Handheld AMMP System

Person using a handheld AAMP system, which integrates the SP218 ana a pocket-sized vector network analyzer (VNA)
The handheld AMMP integrates the SP218 probe and a pocket-sized vector network analyzer (VNA) into a rugged, handheld reflectometer device. This system enables 2-18 GHz measurements of component surfaces and is tethered to a laptop or tablet only by a USB cable instead of RF cables, which are the biggest source of measurement error and failure in many systems. It can be used on curved surfaces as well as flat.

Applications of the Handheld AMMP System:

The handheld AMMP system provides flexible measurement capabilities for various industrial and field applications. Handheld AMMP systems are used in characterizing coatings on aerospace platforms, materials used on advanced antennas and arrays, and complex composite radomes, such as aircraft nosecones.

Benefits of the Handheld AMMP System:

  • Dramatically increases measurement reliability and reduces maintenance costs.
  • Brings the laboratory to the system under test, rather than having to extract material samples or witness coupons for measurement in a laboratory.
  • Ability to measure the actual components or production materials in-situ, preventing the need for witness coupons that may or may not be representative of the actual production material.

Additional Information:

  • A version for use in hazardous environments (C1D2 certified) is also available.
  • 2-18 GHz surface reflectivity measurement.
  • Tight integration with a Copper Mountain vector network analyzer.
  • Includes a variety of spacers.
  • Relies on an SP218 RF spot probe.
  • Handheld version of CTGcalc™ is supplied to assist in the taking of RF measurements.
