Compass Technology Group (CTG) is excited to introduce a portable, handheld reflectometer system that is suitable for point inspection of RF coatings on a variety of DoD platforms. This system provides broadband surface reflectivity measurement using CTG’s RF spot probe technology. The system includes tight integration with a Copper Mountain vector network analyzer, which eliminates an RF cable, enabling, faster, more reliable measurements.
The CTG reflectometer system includes a tripod mount that ensures the Spot probe maintains proper spacing and orientation to the surface under inspection. Additional mounts can be custom designed for a particular application.
The SP218 RF spot probes are specially designed antennas encapsulated in a dielectric and optimized to provide a small, illumination spot 1 to 3 inches in front of probe. They are very compact and rugged with a wide band performance, making them an excellent choice for use in such a hand-held, reflectometer system.
CTGCalc™ is our platform developed to assist in the taking of RF measurements. The software communicates with a number of supported analyzers to take and record calibration, S11, S21 and full 2-port measurement data. Material properties (dielectric permittivity and sheet impedance) can then be extracted from appropriate measurements.
